FAQs

Faculties FAQs

Do students ever know which faculty they are involved with?
No, Faculties are a back-end system for organisation and reporting. A student will never see their faculty, so you can call and organise them however you want without worrying if a student will see it.
How are faculties linked to courses?
When a new course is added in Courses and Subjects, it can be assigned to a faculty and department from your centralised list.
What happens if I rename a faculty?
Changing a faculty name can affect automations or touchpoints if the name (not ID) was used in conditions. It’s recommended to update names at the start of a new recruitment cycle and always use the faculty ID for consistency.
When does the faculty update on a student record?
Faculties are tied to courses, so the record updates whenever a student’s Course of Interest changes.
Can a student belong to more than one faculty?
Yes. If a student applies for multiple courses in different faculties, both are recorded. The most recent update determines which appears as their current faculty.
Who uses Faculties the most?
Most used by: Admissions, Enquiries, International, Recruitment & Outreach, Data, and Events teams to manage and report on activities by academic area.
