According to an article released this week, Scottish universities have launched a new campaign to target some of the world's emerging nations to promote the distinctive qualities of Scottish universities to Brazil, China, Malaysia, Mexico and Columbia.

Michael Russell, the Education Secretary, welcomed the initiative; "Scotland's higher education institutes are already internationally recognised and they are increasingly collaborating to harness global opportunities and to promote our exceptional higher education assets overseas."

According to Professor Sir Ian Diamond, convener of Universities Scotland's international committee, internationalisation has brought huge benefits to staff and students. The new initiative is set to promote the unique identity and differences in the higher education provision within Scotland as their competitive advantage to gaining more international students.

Student CRM makes the process simpler for recruiting international students, giving recruitment teams the ability to market and target students in these emerging countries.

University College Birmingham (UCB) has just increased their number of international applications by 20% due to using CRM to manage their recruitment activities.
